DESCRIPTION
KETOCONAZOLE Cream 2%
Pharmacology:
Ketoconazole
is a synthetic imidazole-dioxolan derivative having potent
antimicrobial activity against dermatophytes, yeast, egTricophyton sp.,
Epidermophytonfloccosum, Pityrosporum sp., Candida sp.
Ketoconazole
works by inhibiting the cytochrome P450 fungus, by disrupting the
synthesis of ergosterol which is an essential component of the mushroom
cell membrane.

INDICATION:
Ketoconazole cream is indicated for topical treatment on the treatment of dermatophyte infections of the skin such as:
Tineacorporis
Tineacruris
Tineamanus
Tineapedis
Which
is caused by Trichopytonmentagrophytes, Microsporumcanis and
Epidermophytonfloccosum. Also for the treatment of kandidosiskutis and
tinea (pitiriasis) versikolor.
HOW TO USE:
Applied
once daily to the infected area and its surroundings in patients with
kidiskandidosis, tineakorporis, tineacruris, tineamanus, tineapedis and
tinea (pitiriasis) versikolor.
In patients with seborrheic dermatitis: treatment once or twice a day.
Treatment should be continued for some time, at least until a few days after symptoms disappear.
