Description
CIPROFLOXACIN is a generic antibiotic drug derived from Quinolone by inhibiting DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, both of which are important in bacterial DNA replication, transcription, repair and recombination. This drug is used to treat bacterial infections that are sensitive to ciprofloxacin such as infections of the urinary tract, gastrointestinal tract, including typhoid fever caused by S. typhi, respiratory tract (except pneumonia caused by Streptococcus), skin and soft tissue, bones and joints.

Dose
THE USE OF THIS MEDICATION MUST BE ACCORDING TO THE DOCTOR'S INSTRUCTIONS. Adults: Mild to moderate Urinary Tract Infections (UTI): 250 mg, 2 times a day. Severe Urinary Tract Infections (UTI), chronic prostatitis, GI infections: 500 mg, 2 times a day. Mild to moderate respiratory tract, bone & joint, skin & soft tissue infections: 250-500 mg, 2 times a day. Severe respiratory tract, bone & joint, skin & soft tissue infections: 500-750 mg, 2 times a day. Acute GO: 250 mg as a single dose. Acute osteomyeletis: 750 mg, 2 times a day.
